INEGA Solar Panel Subsidies in 2026
The Galician regional government (Xunta) subsidy can pay for half of your installation: up to €4,000 per home plus €2,000 for a battery. But there are two fine-print details you must know before counting on it.

The INEGA (Energy Institute of Galicia) subsidies for residential photovoltaics cover 50% of the eligible investment, with a maximum of €4,000 per home for panels and an additional €2,000 if you add a lithium battery. The fine print: the current program is aimed only at non-urban areas (rural parishes) and operates by a seasonal call with limited spots — it is not open all year. Here we tell you exactly what it covers, who can apply, how the calendar works, and how we handle it for you.
How much money does INEGA provide?
The current residential program is the 2025-2026 subsidies for photovoltaic energy projects in the residential sector in non-urban areas (procedure codes IN421N / IN421O), co-financed with European FEADER funds. These are the amounts:

| Concept | Amount |
|---|---|
| Subsidized percentage | 50% of the eligible investment |
| Maximum per home (panels) | €4,000 |
| Extra for lithium battery | + €2,000 additional |
| Maximum multi-family / community | €25,000 |
Lead-acid batteries are not eligible; the extra applies only to lithium batteries.
Who can apply? The important nuance: non-urban areas
Beneficiaries can be individuals, property companies, and communities of owners. But there is a requirement that many people discover too late: this program applies only to non-urban areas — rural parishes included in the official FEADER list. If your home is in an urban center, as of today there is no equivalent open call for you, and it is best not to count on those €4,000 until there is one.
The good part for our area: a large part of the province of A Coruña is exactly that — rural parishes with detached homes. We check for you if your parish is on the list before promising you anything.
When can you apply? Deadlines and real calendar
Here is the second fine print, and we tell you honestly: the INEGA subsidy is not open all year. It is a seasonal and competitive call — limited spots and funds that run out.
- 2025-2026 Call: the application period was from 10/31/2025 to 12/01/2025 and is now closed.
- Next call: as of today there is no new open call for individuals. If the pattern repeats, we expect a new seasonal application window — and whoever arrives with the documentation prepared gets in; whoever starts moving when it opens, usually gets left out.
Is it compatible with the income tax (IRPF) deduction and IBI?
Yes, and that's the beauty of it: they are three levels of aid that add up. In addition to the INEGA subsidy, you have the IRPF deduction for solar panels in Galicia (20% or 40% of the investment depending on the accredited energy improvement) and the municipal bonuses on property tax (IBI, up to 50% of the quota for several years) and the construction tax (ICIO, up to 95%), which depend on your local council's ordinance.
How we handle it for you
The INEGA paperwork — list of parishes, electronic application, technical report, justification on time — is exactly the kind of bureaucracy that makes people miss out on the subsidy. Our process: we do the study of your roof via satellite for free, we check if your home is in an eligible area, we tell you what subsidies you truly qualify for (INEGA, IRPF, IBI/ICIO) and we submit and justify the application for you when the call opens.
